After Cam Newton's bumpy road through college, was he worthy of being the top draft choice. With scandal right at his doorstep, Cam Newton has seemed to put the past behind him and has surpassed all the expectations with flying colors in his first two games as a professional quarterback. Cam Newton has thrown for 400+ yards in his first two games, most for any rookie quarterback in their first two games. After his troubles at Florida, and his pay for play scandal at Auburn, he seems to be unfased as he continues to impress all the experts watching him. If Cam Newton continues his incredible production this season, it would seem that the Carolina Panthers selected a winner with their top pick in the 2011 NFL draft.
Coming into the season i was not expecting anything special from Cam Newton. It is impressive he worked his way from a Junior College to one of the best Division 1 programs in America at Auburn University and now he is leading the Carolina Panthers. To many suprised analysts Newton has performed great this season and his game is impressive. Throwing more touchdowns than interceptions and is in the top five in the league with passing yards. Cam Newton and Steve Smith have connected well thus far this season and I would think Smith is happy to have a guy at quarterback that isn't scared to sling the football deep.
